But what do you do if your car is stolen? the Radar Detector Shop is proud to offer the MTrack vehicle tracking solution so you are able to locate and recover your vehicle if it is stolen.

MTrack is an intelligent vehicle tracking solution which allows your vehicle to be constantly monitored by a dedicated monitoring station. MTrack uses the existing mobile phone network to calculate and submit your vehicles location without the need for GPS Satellites, combined with a RF Beacon your vehicle can be located with an accuracy of 1 metre indoors and out. The MTrack is a completely wireless device with a battery which can last up to 4 years, this makes installing the MTrack extremely easy even for the average user.

The MTrack is able to communicate with the monitoring station over the mobile phone network (GSM) this allows the device to send its location for the monitoring station to track as well as being able to receive commands or updates from the monitoring station. MTrack has a sleep mode where it is virtually undetectable by RF detectors and is ideal for every day use. Once you discover that your vehicle is missing the monitoring station can send the command to activate the MTrack which will bring it out of sleep mode enabling your vehicle to be located and recovered.

The MTrack device can be activated in several different ways. Remotely by the monitoring station, for example if the owner notices that their vehicle is missing. Motion sensors can trigger the MTrack to activate if the unit moves for longer than allowed by the criteria. The MTrack comes with an anti-tamper plate and once the connection is broken the device will activate. All this allows the alert to trigger at the monitoring station and action to be taken quickly improving the chances of recovery of the vehicle.

How it works

The Mtrack device is similar to a modern day mobile phone, it contains several of the same components and operates in a similar manner. The Mtrack device works in wake sleep cycles to conserve battery power and to make itself ever increasingly hard to find or scan.
Once an Mtrack has gone to sleep it will stay in a dormant state until its pre-selected wake up time, once it is time for the mtrack to awake the unit powers up and checks the GSM Network for any commands or updates. An mtrack will typically wake up for 1min before taking on all of its commands and then returning to sleep or carrying out the commands it has received.
Every time the unit awakes it adds a footprint to the GSM Network to log a cell position of where the unit was located before returning to sleep.

In the event of a theft the Mtrack will be requested into alarm via the ARC, the ARC will then liase with both the finder and the depot to locate the device and inform the police. Once a finder is in the cell site they will utilise the Mtracks RF beacon to close in and pin point the device to within 1 meter.
